No, recipes are not fascist. They are formulas for achieving expected results. Most cooks start with basic recipes and use their creativity to tweak it into something unique.

I actually enjoy cooking on a whim but recipes, especially for baking, do serve a purpose. I also enjoy making up my own recipes but often make notations that measuring is not necessary for certain ingredients.
No one is TELLING you how to cook anything! Recipes are a guideline for you, if you don't have the expertise to do it on your own .......Most recipes need to be ';tweaked'; anyways

But of course! I actually thought that receipes were methods of cooking a certain meat, pie, candy, etc. Silly me!
NO they aren't cuz I still need help learning new recipes as I sure other people are.
